The CSC Central Office (CSC CO) emerged as the overall champion of the 2019 Luzon Friendship Games held last February 19-21, 2019 in Ilocos Sur. Garnering a total of 820 points, the CSC CO team won first place in several sports discipline. CSC National Capital Region (NCR) came in second place with 810 points and Regional Office IV (RO IV) in third place with 760 points.
During the pre-game event, Commissioner Aileen Lourdes A. Lizada called on all players to take to heart the oath of sportsmanship and apply it to their roles as civil servants. She also thanked RO I for all the hard work in hosting the Games.
A parade of colors along the famed Calle Crisologo marked the beginning of the Luzon Friendship Games (LFG). Afterwhich, the CSC Chairperson Alicia dela Rosa-Bala formally declared the start of the games, followed by the oath of sportsmanship by Officer-in-Charge Romulo V. Nabua, La Union Field Office.
In his message during the opening program, Commissioner Leopoldo Roberto W. Valderosa Jr. thanked all officials and employees of RO I for all their efforts to make the 2019 Luzon Friendship Games a success. He reminded all players to give their best and enjoy the Games.

Badminton (Men) – RO IV Badminton (Women) – CO
Table Tennis (Men) – CO Table Tennis (Women) – CO
Darts – RO IV Scrabble – RO II
Chess (Men) – RO I Chess (Women) – RO IV
Track and Field (Men) - NCR Track and Field (Women) - RO III
For the Sayawit competition, NCR bagged the first place by composing their own lyrics and rendering their own versions of popular Filipino songs that showed Filipino culture. Region Office II and Regional Office III came in second and third place, respectively.
The last stretch of 2019 LFG was the fun games, which consisted of five stations namely piko, ring toss, caterpillar crawl, bounce and shoot, blind maze. RO IV was the fastest group with a time of 2 minutes and 2 seconds.
In her closing message, Chairperson Bala said she was very happy with the turnout of events as the objectives of the Luzon Friendship Games have been met. She pointed out four main characteristics of the CSC workforce that she has seen during the 4-day event–formidable, game changer, resilient, and with malasakit.
CSC RO I Director IV Hedy Jose B. Lardizabal turned over the hosting of next year’s Luzon Friendship Games to CSC Cordillera Administrative Region Director III Cornelia M. Rillera, who gladly accepted.
